The December 2013 “Wintry” and “Yearly” Limited Edition Fennux Coats are here!

NOTE: THE LE LANTERN EYES ARE VERY RARE, DO NOT EXPECT TO GET THEM, BUT IF YOU DO GET THEM – CONGRATULATIONS! :)

To celebrate our 1 Year Anniversary, we decided to offer two different LE coat options in the Wishing Well. This does NOT mean you will get two Fennux, rather it means you will randomly receive 1 of the 2 Fennux LE coats each time you use the well. It’s a 50/50 chance.

We are also giving away a free “Yearly” grabber to everyone in The Fennux group! So make sure to check past group notices for the free gift.

Fennux is at the 2013 RFL Breedables Expo as usual, which we believe opens today! You can try to get into the event by clicking this slurl: Fennux @ RFL 2013

(If it doesn’t work yet, you can wait until it does, eventually it should open up. Please don’t come into our group chat claiming the link doesn’t work, or you can’t get into the sim – you’ll be able to get in when they allow you to, we don’t have any control over that.)

We have 2 items for sale @ L$95/ea. They are the Runnable Pet versions of the Wishing Well LEs. (Yearly and Wintry as seen above.) 100% of the proceeds for the Runnable Pets go to Relay For Life, so it goes to a great cause. :)

BACK TO THE WISHING WELL INFORMATION…

To find out more about how the Wishing Well system works, you can watch our informative video tutorial at the following page: Fennux Wishing Well Tutorial

Users can turn their extra Dens (12) into 1 Wintry OR 1 Yearly LE Fennux & 12 Days of Reserve Food by doing the following:

1) Place your 12 Fennux Dens on the Wishing Well, putting 1 Den on each wooden panel

2) Click the Wishing Well (it may take a few seconds to calculate…)

3) It will ask you to confirm (YES or NO), pressing YES will drop all 12 Dens into the Well

4) An Inventory Offer will present itself to you, press KEEP to get your Wintry or Yearly LE Den, at this time you also will receive 12 Days (48 Kibbles) of Reserve Food, which is visible on your HUD instantly

And that’s all there is to it! Enjoy your Wintry or Yearly LE Fennux Den, and your 12 Days of Reserve Food!

WHERE DO I GET MY WINTRY or YEARLY LE FENNUX?

The Wishing Well exists only on the Fennux Sim. We have 1 setup next to every Crafting Machine, and of course these Wishing Wells are used to turn any 12 Fennux Dens into 1 Wintry or Yearly LE Den (and 12 days of Reserve Food).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Yes there is a SMALL CHANCE to get “LE Lantern Eyes”, but the odds are roughly about a 0.5% chance to obtain, so don’t expect to get them! The LE Lantern Eyes can pass onto other coats, so even if you don’t get them from Wishing, you will have opportunities to obtain them in the Secondary Market later.

Most Fennux however will have regular eyes from a starter den, very similar to Crafting – the only thing that is “LE” on most Wintry or Yearly LE Fennux is the over-ride of the Fennux Coat. It’s more-or-less exactly like Crafting, except for the fact the coat will not pass.

Team Fennux has some exciting news for our breeders: Fennux Version 2.0 is here!

FENNUX UPDATER VIDEO TUTORIAL:

http://www.fennux.com/tutorials/updater

(If it’s difficult trying to understand Daemon speaking, please see our Fennux V2 Updater Tutorial NO MUSIC version.)

Please check “The Fennux” group notices for the attachment “Fennux V2.0 Pyramid” we just sent out. Just grab the attachment, rez the object on the ground and TOUCH the item to unpack it. It should create a folder for you with the latest Fennux HUD, Fennux Updater, Recipe Mass Merger, and Redelivery Portal.

You will need this new HUD to interact with Fennux so I suggest putting that on right away. The Fennux Updater is “slow but sure”, and is able to update ALL Live Fennux/Fennux Dens you own that are on the current sim. If you have Fennux on multiple sims you will need to use the updater on each sim. You can always use the traditional “REBUILD” method on your New Fennux HUD v2.0, but if you want to try out the luxury of our automated Fennux Updater – we strongly advise it! :)

USING THE FENNUX UPDATER

Rez the “Fennux Updater” onto your land. Touch it. Select “YES” from the menu prompt. Wait patiently (it updates 1 Live Fennux/Fennux Den per every 10 seconds, it is designed to be slow and stable, so that nothing goes wrong, and besides you’ll only ever have to do this once for this update.) After each Fennux or Den is updated, you will see “V2″ at the end of the top line of its hover text. (Dens now show the version when updated.)

MASS MERGING RECIPES

Rez the “Recipe Mass Merger” onto your land. Touch it. Select “YES” from the menu prompt. Near-instantly you should notice all of your FNX Recipes gone and a bunch of spammy text shall notify you that you have received your FNX Points in exchange for their deletion! BUT PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WILL ONLY WORK ON RECIPES REZZED BY V2.0 FENNUX OR LATER, IT WILL NOT WORK ON RECIPES REZZED BY V1.2 FENNUX!

Of course you can merge recipes by hand via clicking and holding them for 2 seconds, and selecting Merge on them, and of course you can update Fennux by hand via clicking them and clicking CONFIG on your HUD, followed by a REBUILD. The choice is up to you, we just wanted to make these processes easier on you.

NEW PRODUCTS AT THE VENDORS

We now have a couple new products including the Buildable Fennux Fantasy Hydrated Home. The home is not usable until your Fennux finish building it, but it costs significantly less than a standard Hydrated Home, yet looks quite cool after completed. You simply rez it on the ground near Live Fennux and eventually they will start to find sticks, slowly building the home. It may take a week – it depends on how many Lives you have nearby.

We also have the Eternal Reviver item which you can rez on the ground, enter the ID of the Fennux you want to stop being a pet, or come back from being merged into local chat – and then you will see your Fennux show up in front of you. If your Fennux was a Pet, it will be deleted/cloned/etc after you use this, and it will be back to a normal live Fennux.

WHAT HAS CHANGED IN VERSION 2?

Below you will find any and all features added to the Fennux…

Fennux eyes will now look around every so often, to see what’s going on in the world around them.

You can set the activity level of a Fennux manually via the CONFIG tab on the Fennux HUD, or you can continue using Fennux Homes to do this process in mass.

Fennux will breathe softly while they sleep.

Fennux will occasionally start playing around with a tiny Fennux Soccer ball (USA) / Football (Everywhere Else). Sometimes you’ll get to see many Fennux chasing the same ball.

Particle Animations will randomly happen to Fennux, maybe you’ll notice hearts, butterflies, or festive themes surrounding your Fennux every so often.

Fennux will hop to food dishes if they are in range for them to eat from, and of course they will do an eating animation upon arrival.

Fennux that run along-side you used to have issues where they would ball up every so often and look strange, this has since been resolved.

You may now pet a Fennux via the HUD.

Fennux will occasionally sleep with its partner (on purpose, not by accident).

We added a TREE button to the INFO Tab, allowing you to see a Fennux Tree in a single click.

If you click the giant FENNUX logo on the ME Tab you can teleport to The Official Fennux Sim.

We added a “SHOW COMP” (Show Compatible Fennux) button to the INFO Tab, it will show compatible Live Fennux/Fennux Dens around you via particle effect.

A Refresh button was added next to the Reserve Food on the ME Tab.

You can use the Mass Recipe Merger to merge all recipes you own in the region at once.

You can use the CONFIG tab to SHOW/HIDE/ATTACH/DETACH Fennux Hats and Glasses you buy from community members.

We fixed the “charecters” typo, yes – that one… it now says charactars… jk it says characters.

Adjust our Fennux Head Sculpt to make the Fennux Heads look smoother, there used to be a slight line on the cheeks of every Fennux – this has been resolved.

Fixed hydration issues where Fennux would fail hydration after successful mating during a certain occurrence (wasn’t bothering most users, just some, and it’s resolved now).

A new method was added to Fennux that allow for us and potentially third-party developers to create interactive content without requiring further updates. Fennux will even be able to use Path Finding with this new method. (This also means we can release new games that you can play with your Fennux without us requiring you to update each and every Fennux again.)

Better Pack controls. A creator can leave their pack with an option to appoint someone else as the new owner during the process.

Fennux will become low lag in the event no one is around (forced Activity 0), they will go back to normal as soon as someone shows up again. (Toggle this on or off via the “My Fennux – Settings” website.)

You can buy a Build-able Hydrated Fennux Home (Hydrated Fantasy Home) that your Fennux will construct over time. These are priced cheaper than regular hydrated homes as they are not able to be used right away, the Fennux have to build it first! :)

You can also buy an “Eternal Revive” to undo any Eternal Merge / Eternal Pet that has been done. This can be used to retrieve either a Live Fennux or a Den that has been merged, but this will not revive a Den or a Live Fennux that was merged during Crafting, Wishing or during a Fennux Capture Battle Duel.

You can enable Full Bright for All Fennux via the “My Fennux – Settings” website, this helps the detail of each Fennux show vibrantly on your screen.

Fennux set to “Web Market” can have their pose changed between one of 12 variants. (Jump, Flop, Pawing, Sleep1, Sleep2, Roll, Digging SitButt, Laydown, Stand, Begging, StandLook)

You can enable or disable Fennux Paw Prints as they hop around on your land via the “My Fennux – Settings” website.

We changed the Eternal Merge button on the HUD to show much more detail about what it does. It now has “Deletes Fennux” written underneath it, as well as a bright red border to help you understand it can be “bad” when you don’t want to touch it.

PLEASE OPEN UP “The Fennux” GROUP AND GET THE ATTACHMENT WE SENT OUT FOR THE UPDATED HUD, FENNUX UPDATER, MASS RECIPE MERGER AND REDELIVERY PORTAL!

Thanks for reading – and Happy Breeding!

(UPDATED SEPTEMBER 02, 2013)

IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON MAKING A GLASSES ATTACHMENT, YOU MUST COVER THE FENNUX EYES WITH THE ATTACHMENT. THE GLASSES ATTACHMENT SWAPS WITH THE EYE SCULPT, WHICH CAUSES THE EYES OF THE FENNUX TO DISAPPEAR ENTIRELY PUTTING IN PLACE THE GLASSES ATTACHMENT. WE RECOMMEND DEVELOPING SUNGLASSES, VISORS, BLINDFOLDS, ETC – ANYTHING THAT COVERS THE FENNUX EYES FULLY.

HATS REPLACE THE HAIR SCULPT (EVEN IF YOUR FENNUX DOESN’T HAVE HAIR, IT REBUILDS IT WITH A HAIR SCULPT TO REPLACE), SO THERE IS A BIT MORE CREATIVE FREEDOM WHEN DEVELOPING HATS!

TEAM FENNUX WILL DENY ALL GLASSES ITEMS THAT DO NOT COVER THE EYES. (LOOK AT OUR SUNGLASSES EXAMPLE IN THE DEVELOPERS KIT, THESE COVER THEM MOSTLY, BUT NOT FROM THE SIDES, THIS IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF PROPER EYE COVERAGE)

IF YOU ARE GOING TO DEVELOP WITH THE HAT ATTACHMENT, AND YOU ARE NOT GOING TO COVER THE TOP OF THE HEAD, YOUR CUSTOMERS MAY BE UNHAPPY TO USE YOUR PRODUCT ON A FENNUX WITH A SHORT HAWK, TWIST HAWK, ETC – SO TRY TO INFORM THEM IN YOUR PRODUCT MARKETING THAT YOUR ITEM MAKES USE OF THE HAT ATTACHMENT, AND ADVISE THEM NOT TO USE IT ON FENNUX WITH HAIR TRAITS.

ALSO – PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT ALLOW RE-TEXTURES OF OUR “TOP HAT” OR “SUNGLASSES” EXAMPLE SCULPTS. WE ONLY ACCEPT SUBMISSIONS FOR SCULPTED CONTENT. (AKA, PLEASE DO NOT RE-TEXTURE THE DEFAULT HAT IN THE KIT AND CLAIM IT AS YOUR OWN BECAUSE YOU RE-TEXTURED IT, SAME GOES FOR THE GLASSES.)

We are announcing a new, completely free product for 3D Content Creators!

If you are good at creating sculpts from scratch in third-party programs, we welcome you to try out the new Fennux Glasses and Hats Developers Program.

To get started developing you will need to obtain our item “Fennux – Hats and Glasses Dev Kit”, which is available at the Official Fennux Sim (near the landing point).

Once you have the Dev Kit, please follow these steps:

1.) Rez the object “Fennux – Hats and Glasses Dev Kit” onto the ground.

2.) Click on the object “Fennux – Hats and Glasses Dev Kit”.

3.) To create your own Hat, click the button “Rez Hat”. To create your own Glasses, click the button “Rez Glasses”. (You can do both at the same time if wish.)

4.) You are allowed to edit the hat sculpt and/or the glasses sculpt that rez, in ONLY the following ways…

a) Edit the size with “Stretch both sides” enabled.

b) Swap the sculpt map.

c) Swap the texture map.

YOU CANNOT EDIT ANYTHING ELSE. You literally are only allowed to edit the scale when “stretch both sides” is enabled, and edit the sculpt and texture maps, nothing else is allowed to be edited – else the items will not function properly and will be declined when submitted to us for approval. This includes but is not limited to the Texture Repeats per Face, Texture Offsets, Texture Rotation, etc. – you can’t touch any of these values, they have to remain the default.

5.) After you are done creating the sculpts, editing the scaling, etc – you may click on the object and press “Realign Glass” or “Realign Hat” to make sure everything is setup properly, if it looks wrong after you have pressed either Realign button – you probably need to keep editing your sculpt(s) in your sculpting program until they appear perfectly on the Fennux example model.

6.) Once you are positive the Hat and/or Glasses look fine on the default Fennux Model, you may press “Export Hat” or “Export Glass” to get a string of text.

7.) Copy the string of text to your clipboard (Ctrl + C while it’s highlighted), and then paste this into a ticket on the Fennux Support Helpdesk (Ctrl + V to paste) under the category “Developers” sub-category “Accessory Submissions”. And that’s all there is to it!

Expect to hear back from us within a few days. We review each and every submission so it can take a while to process them. Not all submissions will be approved, we are looking for quality as well as making sure no one attempts to use stolen content in their submissions. Please also understand that each item has to be 1 single sculpt per attachment point (Glasses / Hat). 1 sculpt, 1 texture, that’s it.

Please understand that this program is designed for 3D Content Creators who know how to export sculpts professionally – you cannot simply purchase some sculpts on the SL Marketplace and expect them to fit on our Fennux model. You WILL have to use a professional sculpting program to export the sculpts in just the right position, rotation, etc. so that they automatically work with our existing animations. It will be a “trial and error” sort of situation – but we’ve tested it with a few sculptors and they were able to figure out how to export the sculpts to work with our Fennux, so we hope that you will be able to as well.

If you have any issues you may contact us via the Fennux Ticket System and we will be glad to assist you.

If your submission is accepted, we will update your Support Ticket with a unique code. You will need to go in-world on Second Life and click on the “Fennux – Hats and Glasses Dev Kit” again, and click on the menu item “Get Script”. It will deliver to you a notecard which has a script inside.

You will need to copy the contents of this Notecard to a new Script file.

You will see at the top of the file something that says… string uuid = “code-goes-here”; …simply change that code-goes-here portion to say your Unique Code.

You will also see at the top of the file something that says… string object = “Hat”; …simply keep this as Hat or change it to Glass depending on what type of item you are creating.

After you have edited and saved the script file – make sure to change the permissions to “No-Modify” (VERY IMPORTANT), and in most situations you will probably want to make sure the script is “No-Copy”, else someone could use your script to make unlimited free hats or glasses. Again, this is VERY IMPORTANT that you make sure to set “No-Modify” and most likely “No-Copy”, transfer is fine to keep on.

Drop that script (after you are 100% positive the permissions are finalized) into an object you want to use as the actual item you sell to people. This item will be touched by the purchaser to start the process of applying it once onto their Fennux. We recommend that you use the same sculpt you made as the item you sell to people. After you have the script inside the sellable object, make sure the permissions are setup properly – and you can now sell your items to anyone on SL. You can even put them up on SL Marketplace, pass them out for free, it’s your content – you make 100% of the profits.

Saying this once more, make sure the script is No-Modify, otherwise someone can get your Unique Code and make unlimied versions of your hat or glasses without your permission – and there’s nothing we can do about that.

If you decide to make an item copy, keep in mind that someone can have people transfer Fennux to their account, and they can make unlimited Hats or Glasses for the Fennux transferred to their account. We do not recommend keeping Copy permission on your finished product, of course you can do whatever you want as it is your product.

That’s about it – I know this is a long post, but it should be very helpful to content creators making third-party accessories for The Fennux Breedable Pets.

LEGAL – Team Fennux LLC always remains to have the right to disable products, including approved ones, as we see fit. If you are found to be breaking our Terms of Service we reserve the right to remove you from the Fennux Developers Program. Developing products for The Fennux is a privilege not a right.

The “Elite” coat Fennux will NOT pass its coat onto its offspring, but it will have a chance at passing the NEW LE “Scarlet Eyes” that it comes with. We have recently put together a full Fennux guide, including “Getting Started”, “Breeding”, “Dueling” and “Crafting”. This guide is made available in 9 different languages (Arabic, Dutch, English, French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish). These are translated by people of its native languages who have knowledge of SL. If you know someone who needs help with The Fennux, and you know they speak one of those 9 languages, you can send them to: http://www.fennux.com/lang
