It’s… back…

Have you ever wanted to make your own Fennux coat?

WELL NOW YOU CAN!

We are having a contest where anyone can download our Fennux Silhouette PNG file, import it into Photoshop or Gimp or whatever your favorite Image Editing Software is, and then you can draw, paint bucket, brush, etc. on the Fennux Silhouette PNG file.

You do NOT have to be a 3D Texture Artist to submit an idea, you just need to know how to paint on a 2D surface!

It’s really that easy – get as creative as you want and once you’re done save the file (JPG/JPEG PREFERABLY), upload it to Second Life, make it Full Perm (mod, copy, trans) and send it to Daemon Blackflag in-world. Please only submit one entry!

Daemon and other members of Team Fennux will review your ideas and choose a winner. Then, Katharine Mcginnis will use her texturing expertise to recreate the winning conceptual idea and turn it into a real Fennux Coat!

We will not announce the winner until around the 1st of February – because that is when we intend to release the coat into the Wishing Well. Yes, the winner’s coat will be available in the Wishing Well as an LE for the entire month of February. SO PLEASE THINK OF IDEAS BASED AROUND “VALENTINE’S DAY”, “LOVE”, “HEARTS”, “RED/PINK/WHITE/BLACK”… or maybe you can be a bit creative and think outside the box, the choice is yours! :)

If you are not selected this time, don’t worry! This isn’t the first time we’ve done this, and we plan to do it more often.

Upon submitting your contest entry to us – Team Fennux becomes the sole owner of your idea, and we can use it as we see fit forever. This is traditional legal jargon, if we didn’t say this we couldn’t release your coat into the wild, and now we can! :)

If you are selected as a winner, we will send a one-time payment of L$5,000 to you, as well as a give you a free Fennux with the winning LE Coat on it. We’ll also throw in a dish of “4 Fennux for 4 Weeks” kibbles just to spice things up. So, good luck everyone. Many will enter, one will win. (possibly a few runner-ups like last time as well)

DOWNLOAD THIS FILE: http://www.fennux.com/files/fennux_silhouette.zip

DEADLINE: January 21, 2015 – Please do not send anything after this date.

Good luck to everyone entering,

Team Fennux

The January 2015 “Novus” Limited Edition Fennux Coat is here!

NOTE: THE LE GLACIER EYES ARE VERY RARE, DO NOT EXPECT TO GET THEM, BUT IF YOU DO GET THEM – CONGRATULATIONS! :)

WISHING WELL INFORMATION…

To find out more about how the Wishing Well system works, you can watch our informative video tutorial at the following page: Fennux Wishing Well Tutorial

Users can turn their extra Dens (12) into 1 Novus LE Fennux & 12 Days of Reserve Food by doing the following:

1) Place your 12 Fennux Dens on the Wishing Well, putting 1 Den on each wooden panel

2) Click the Wishing Well (it may take a few seconds to calculate…)

3) It will ask you to confirm (YES or NO), pressing YES will drop all 12 Dens into the Well

4) An Inventory Offer will present itself to you, press KEEP to get your Novus LE Den, at this time you also will receive 12 Days (48 Kibbles) of Reserve Food, which is visible on your HUD instantly

And that’s all there is to it! Enjoy your Novus LE Fennux Den, and your 12 Days of Reserve Food!

WHERE DO I GET MY NOVUS LE FENNUX?

The Wishing Well exists only on the Fennux Sim. We have 1 setup next to every Crafting Machine, and of course these Wishing Wells are used to turn any 12 Fennux Dens into 1 Novus LE Den (and 12 days of Reserve Food).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Yes there is a SMALL CHANCE to get “LE Glacier Eyes”, but the odds are roughly about a 0.5% chance to obtain, so don’t expect to get them! The LE Glacier Eyes can pass onto other coats, so even if you don’t get them from Wishing, you will have opportunities to obtain them in the Secondary Market later.

Most Fennux however will have regular eyes from a starter den, very similar to Crafting – the only thing that is “LE” on most Novus LE Fennux is the over-ride of the Fennux Coat. It’s more-or-less exactly like Crafting, except for the fact the coat will not pass.

Thanks for reading,

Fennux Web – Dec 10, 2014 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM PDT/SLT

Fennux Database- Dec 13, 2014 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM PDT/SLT

…expect downtime up to 5 hours on either of these days, our data center which houses our physical servers is moving Fennux Servers to a better environment, it’s for the best. :) Keep in mind these hours are rough approximations, it may be much less time than this, it may be a little more time.

Dec 13 is the CRITICAL time not to mess with Fennux in-world, on December 13 from 8PM to Midnight PDT/SLT, don’t touch your Fennux – it’s just safer that way.

Dec 10 is only going to impact the Fennux Website, everything in-world should be fine even when our website is down on this date.

Thanks!

READ THE ENTIRE PAGE CAREFULLY. Thanks.

(Not a sculptor, but know someone who is? Please link them here!)

Team Fennux is looking for a talented sculptor to join our team as a Contracted Employee. We will basically be calling on you to create various sculpts every so often for our Fennux Project.

You have to know a thing or two about sculpting, we only want professionals to apply – people who really know the ropes. We do not want anyone who uses in-world sculpting tools, just people who know how to sculpt inside physical programs outside of Second Life. If you’re a pro sculptor, you know which one(s) we’re referring to.

You’ll have to sign a non disclosure agreement with us, but that’s very standard now-a-days. This can easily be done over the internet so don’t worry. :)

TO APPLY, it’s quite simple… we have a kit at the Official Fennux Sim, called the “Hats and Glasses Developers Kit”… we want you to grab the kit if you don’t have it already, and then create something… anything! You don’t even have to show it to us, but after you have sculpted something basic, and feel confident that you can create sculpts for us that will actually be used all over the grid, send Daemon Blackflag a notecard with the following information:

1) What’s your Second Life Username?

2) From a scale between 1 and 10, 1 meaning NO and 10 meaning YES, do you think you could recreate our fennux creature sculpts from scratch?

3) Have you done work for anyone else (including your own store)? If yes – who/what?

4) Where do you live / What Timezone are you in?

5) What else should we know about you – why you and not the next person?

…and that should help us figure out who we need to add to our team as contracted employment. We’ll discuss the real details after we deal with an NDA and all of that fun stuff. Also, we don’t care for mesh right now, sculpting with sculpt maps is very key to what we’re doing here.

Hey everyone,

Seems like there is definitely an issue with Live Fennux running with you (when you attached a fennux to Avatar Center and it runs along-side your avatar.) I and others keep seeing “stack heap collision” with the script “Jump” every so often. It only happens when you are actively moving your avatar around while wearing the Fennux.

This issue showed up out of nowhere, and it’s not like we have updated the scripts inside the Fennux recently – so the issue literally showed up out of nowhere.

We are working on a solution for this – so please do not send any more support tickets about the issue, as it’s being handled as I typed this. :)

Thanks!,

Hey everyone,

For the longest time people have been more-or-less pushed into the world of “pure breeding”. The main reason behind this has to do with “uptiering” (going from T4 to T5), as everyone wants to get the newest Fennux coats. So we decided to implement a couple of perks to make it so pure breeding was not the “only way to breed”.

The first fact I’d like to point out is that pure breeding has not been touched, it still works exactly as you expect it to. A lot of people like doing it because it can guarantee your breeding outcomes to be exactly what you want or better. If you breed pure T5 Western together, you’re going to get a pure T5 Western OR maybe even a T6 Western which is considered better by the masses. Nothing changes in regards to pure breeding.

You can, if you’d like, switch things up a bit with “Mixed Breeding”, making sure the Male and the Female you pair together have different regions, with mixed trees all throughout the background. The more random your trees are, the better.

If you try out mixed breeding, you will not be penalized by any means! In fact you will simply experience randomness. You will find that your breeding outcomes (offspring) are not low tier levels, and are not guaranteed to be the same thing by any means. You will also find that every so often random things can occur, such as the Fantasy Region showing up as offspring, seemingly out of nowhere. Keep in mind it is not currently possible to uptier while mixed breeding.

Long story short, we are trying to make sure people know that Fennux is not only a “breed for purity” breedable. A lot of people get bored by that, and would prefer the slightly random lifestyle of Mixed Breeding. We want everyone out there to know you can literally try breeding however you want – we want Fennux to be enjoyable for everyone.

Hey everyone,

First of all – this new feature is very beta, prone to having bugs, and will not always be moderated.

We WILL delete suggestions that have any sort of profanity and such (PG), and we will delete suggestions that do not offer anything to the Fennux Community. We are looking for good ideas that will help to solve problems.

Feel free to make a short/to the point suggestion on the following page, but make sure you are okay with literally hundreds if not thousands of people viewing your suggestion. Your name will clearly be next to your suggestion as well. This is not anonymous.

Make your suggestions / cast your daily votes here: http://www.fennux.com/suggestions

You can come back every 24 hours and vote UP or DOWN on each suggestion. This means in the course of a week you could vote 7 times on every single suggestion submitted.

The Red Down Arrow Button means VOTE DOWN -1, and the Red Green Arrow Button means VOTE UP +1. The higher voted suggestions show up at the top, and the lower voted suggestions show up at the bottom. Team Fennux will look at all suggestions, but we will try to prioritize the higher voted ones just in case. Please do not beg people to vote on your submission, this isn’t a popularity contest – we want honest opinions from our community.

Trust me when I say this is not the best method of doing this, but it’s still a very valuable tool for us to peer into the community in a very transparent manner – it allows everyone to be on the same page regarding community feedback, so we’re getting this feature out into the wild without wasting time refining it.

NOTE: You will have to be logged in to My Fennux to be able to suggest ideas / vote / etc. I highly recommend logging in before clicking the above link to the Suggestions page.

Thanks for reading,

Team Fennux
